Persistence Really is Everything

Hey Everyone,

So it’s been a little over a week since my last post but it feels like it’s been at least 3. Working hard, cutting back on most of the social aspects of my life, cut back on driving unless it was absolutely necessary, all in an effort to regroup and do something great. Well, the work has paid off!

Later on tonight, I will be shooting a video of a presentation at the Atlanta Tech Village! 5 startups will be pitching their companies, including one that I will be doing an extended interview/profile video for. This has been an almost 7 month process with little to no results, but now things are changing and looking much more brighter. Also, I wanted to share this with as many of you as possible, so I want to do a little bit of live streaming using Periscope. You can watch via the web or the app. You can follow me @livingwingfield and I should be streaming around 7:00 PM ET. I hope to see you there, there’s gonna be a lot of first’s tonight. Thank You to all of you who have been supportive of this journey, I appreciate each and every one of you. I will send out reminders through Twitter & Instagram, also @livingwingfield.

Boulevard: Review

Boulevard: Review

It’s taken me longer to get around to watching this, but Robin Williams last live action film was something I refused to miss. So here’s my thoughts and review of Boulevard.

Less than 5 minutes into the film, Boulevard starts off catching the tone and tackling the heart of what this story is ultimately about. You’re able to catch on immediately not only because of the dialogue, but by the way Williams carries himself, his mannerisms and facial expressions. Williams stars as Nolan, the married, middle-aged banker who seems to just blend in with society and is generally unenthusiastic about much of anything. During a drive back home from, Nolan decides to take a different way and unknowingly stumbles across a male prostitute named Leo. Unintentionally, Leo becomes a source to confide in, someone to release his some thoughts and emotions to, which is something that he has not been willing to do with his wife Joy, or his closest friend Winston.IMG_1441

As Boulevard progresses, Nolan becomes more enamored with Leo. But more importantly, he becomes enamored with the idea of opening up to someone and openly become the person he feel he’s meant to be. Plenty of people might find a number of Nolan’s actions as “creepy” and/or “wrong” in this film for certain reasons, but feel free to form your own judgement after you see AND think about the film. The level of emotions picks up immensely in the second half of the film. Acceptance, fear, anger, happiness, all emotions have a place here. There were moments where I would reflect on past and current situations and think about if they were being handled appropriately at the time.

Boulevard is a great dramatic piece that will make your mind work in a good way. Even though the trailer gives you about 90% of the film, it still deserves a watch to truly understand. The performances were well done, the flow of the film might have been slightly too fast, there were a few scenes that I thought could have been expanded, and at it’s very core, it delivered its intended message. I said that this is a very emotional film, but when you remember that this is the last live action film of a one of a kind talent, it hits even harder. Boulevard won’t bring you as much joy as Mrs. Doubtfire or Patch Adams, and won’t be as memorable as Good Will Hunting, Aladdin, or Dead Poets Society, but it is definitely his best work in years. Thank You Robin.

Have any of you seen Boulevard yet? Have plans of seeing it? Any thoughts? Let me know! Also don’t forget to subscribe to The Wingfield Blog.

Have a Great Sunday

Reading. Researching. Preparing. This is how I am choosing to spend my Sunday. How about all of you? As always, I try to put myself in a position where I am continuously making progress & hope that you all are enjoying your Sunday’s as well. Also wanted to share a video with all of you that I thought you might appreciate.

Thanks for Listening,

So I’ve taken a step back from posting for almost a week to regroup, get my mind together, and think about my next move. Didn’t do anything out of the ordinary, just watched a few videos, relaxed, and even got the opportunity to repair an Air Hockey table almost from scratch (Did pretty well if I do say so myself). There was some time spent thinking about why my campaign was a complete fail and why my attempts to promote it didn’t work either. I came to the conclusion that

A) Maybe it was a bit premature to ask others to help me out, but for the past 2 years I’ve held the mentality to jump off the IMG_1420IMG_1412cliff & see what happens.

& B) It doesn’t matter anymore. It’s in the past now, let’s move forward.

The opportunity to make the money is still there, but for now, let’s focus on what’s happening next. That focus as of late has been to dig deeper to find companies closer to home that I believe people would love to learn about. As I was researching and sending off E-mails, I felt something. It was the same feeling I got years ago when I first realized that I could make the ideas in my head possible! I found myself pacing back & forth, trying to figure out the best way to word my E-mails, hoping that it will lead somewhere.

We’re supposed to work because we believe in something, because there’s a picture engraved in our heads that we would love to see become a reality, if not for ourselves, then for others. I work because even though I have had my share of successes, I have still failed to make my visions a reality, so far. My mind is calm knowing that I’m drawing closer to making it happen, and that along the way, I can draw in more people to affect in a positive way. I am reinvigorated and ready for the next challenge.

What are your visions? Let’s discuss them! I want to hear from all of you. Also be sure to subscribe to The Wingfield Blog.

How Much Do You Want It?

Everyday now feels like a new test & my persistence is consistently being challenged. How much am I willing to sacrifice, How far am I willing to go to get what I want? Ultimately, How badly do you want it?

Trying to achieve your dream starting with little to no resources comes with certain stipulations atatched, those being

  1. Not for the soft hearted or weak minded.
  2. Persistence is vital.
  3. Failure & Frustration will be inevitable.
  4. You will be put into positions where adapting & thinking on your feet is critical.
  5. Sacrifices will have to be made.
  6. Time is of the essence.

In these moments, you learn. You develop. You see what you’re made of and determine how much your dream is worth. When you decide that your dream is worth persuing, you’re already ahead of the people who choose otherwise. When you invest in that dream, you make progess, regardless of the pace. The fight is always worth it, but what’s it worth to you? Sacrifice does not mean everything you own, but how much are you prepared to give when it’s time to do or die?

I want to thank everyone that has shown any type of support for my goals and want to let you know that I value and appreciate each of you. I am still having my CampaignFree Movie Giveaway to make an opportunity my reality. Also be sure to subscribe to The Wingfield Blog.

Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F Review/ Best Theater Experience Ever!

Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F Review/ Best Theater Experience Ever!

8/4/15- This was the best day I have ever had in the theater.

My & my old roommates gather up at the theater a little early to check out Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F. We get in the theater, not too many people are there but seats quickly start to fill up as we get closer to the start of the movie. In no time we’re hit with shouting about the sound not working, Kamehameha’s, Team Four Star jokes, & this went on for about 20 minutes 7:00 comes around, someone decides to rewind to the very beginning, and we found out Fathom Events is playing everything through DISH NETWORK!!!!! THE THEATER GOES OFF!! Everyone’s laughing, making jokes, I almost cried laughing to the point where your neck starts to hurt, and managed to take this picture and a 10 second video before my battery died (I’ll try to get that up too).

Everyone’s killing time watching anime videos on their cell phones, talking to one another with people they just met, enjoying one another’s company. Close to 8:00, a manager finally comes and tells us that they have been on the phone with Fathom Events (host of the show) and that they were having satellite issues. We were give the options to either stick around & wait, get a refund, or a free movie pass to whatever movie we wanted for the next year. My friends and I (along with 30 or so other people) opted for the movie passes & met up with some people in the front who were getting refunds. While at the front, we get word that the sound is finally working! EVERYBODY RUNS BACK TO THE THEATER! We lost our seats but still managed to get seats next to each other that were not unbearable. This was the experience with the theater, now let’s talk about the experience with the movie itself!

I’m going to assume that everyone knows the story of DBZRF, the resurrection of Frieza and the events following. The beginning of the movie doesn’t start off the way that people would expect it to. If anyone remembers the beginning of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events movie, think of that but much happier & pinker. Resurrection F moves at an almost perfect pace, there were very few scenes that I thought dragged on too long or could have completely done without. All of the characters give a great performances, the fight scenes are action packed as I hoped it would, entertaining all the way through.

DBZ-060 copy_FLATNegatives
The story is pretty predictable, especially if you pay attention to what certain characters say throughout the movie, but I really didn’t place any emphasis on predictability so I wasn’t bothered by that. The only real complaints I have with the movie is the incorporation of Emperor Pilaf, the reduction of character status for Gohan, & the the screwing over of Vegeta. Battle of Gods had entire scenes with Pilaf & his crew that I thought were completely unnecessary. Resurrection F shortens his inclusion immensely & to the point where it makes more sense, even though I don’t see the insistence of putting them in either movies. Fighting wise, Gohan’s one step ahead of Piccolo, although I personally appreciated Piccolo much more than I did with this older Gohan that decided not to dedicate time to work & training, but cut out training altogether. Gohan meant a lot to DBZ fans, I wanted to see him grow up & be a deal breaker in fights alongside Goku & Vegeta, not hanging in the background with everyone else. As far as Vegeta getting screwed over goes, you’ll just have to watch the movie to get that one.

Final Thoughts
Overall, this is a great addition to the DBZ Film Franchise. Is it better than Battle of Gods? Well…………………..for the most DBZ-011 copy_FLATpart, no. When I watch Battle of Gods, I skip the Pilaf/Dragon Balls scene every time, because I thought it was so unnecessary. But at the same time, BOG also has that intensity factor that makes it so special & worth it, which Resurrection F lacks. It’s a great movie! & I encourage everyone to go see it and show Funimation that we want more! I would also like to thank AMC Theaters, Fathom Events, Funimation, & Everyone in the theater yesterday for making yesterday THE best experience I’ve had in the theater so far. I got a great movie, a fun experience, & 2 free movie tickets to any movie I want until mid-August 2016!

Did any of you go see the movie yesterday? Planning on going to see the movie? Any questions that I may have not answered? Let Me know! Also I’m still having my Free Movie Giveaway, click the link for info on that & also be sure to subscribe to The Wingfield Blog!

Learning From Failure/Free Movie Giveaway #2

Learning From Failure/Free Movie Giveaway #2

Hey Everyone,

Once again, I have failed. In an effort to spread my campaign and take advantage of a great opportunity, I have tried doing a giveaway in the hopes that people will help share it as well as win some movies and other gifts in the process. Unfortunately this was not the case. One of the great things I like about myself is that I can face up to my failures and admit that I failed hard, real hard. The way to enter the giveaway was to reblog a previous post, but obviously the prizes weren’t enticing enough because not a single person entered, NOT ONE! Failure is the opportunity to learn, to correct the previous mistakes and start over again with a new lesson.

The other thing is that I like about myself is that when I come to realize that I have failed, the recovery time is roughly only 10 seconds. I pick myself up, regroup, plan accordingly and try again! It’s a good thing I’m crazy enough to go as big as I see fit to get what I need. There’s 2 weeks left into the campaign, and I’m going to start over & do another, bigger giveaway with more movie options to choose from! This will be exclusive to the WordPress community and it would be great to get as many of you involved as possible. Here’s how this will go.

In order to enter, all you have to do is reblog my post So It Has Come To This…... When that’s done, you automatically DSC01148enter to win……

    2. My Neighbor Totoro
    3. Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)
    4. The Theory of Everything
    5. Gone Girl
    6. Disney/Pixar’s Brave
    7. Wreck-It Ralph
    8. Monsters Inc.
    9. Finding Nemo
    10. Iron ManDSC01141
    11. Iron Man 2

  2. Funko POP! Figure of Inside Out’s Anger
  3. Your choice of movie poster between Mad Max: Fury Road & Terminator Genysis

The giveaway will go on until August 15th at 11:59 PM EST and I will announce and contact the winner the following day. I’ve been presented with an opportunity and I am going to do whatever I need to do to make it happen. Whether you share my other post for the movie prizes, or directly share the campaign on other social media sites, or both, it will be very much appreciated and will go a long way.
