I want to take a minute to talk about the entertainment world. I’m a lover of visual entertainment such as Video Games, Movies, TV Shows, Documentaries, Photos, Architecture, doesn’t matter. like I’m sure most of you are. The question I want to ask is how many of you have held a movie or video game in your hand, really looked at it, and thought to yourself that what you’re holding is a work of art? Not just because its beautiful to look at, but because it’s a translation of conceptualized thoughts from someone(s) mind to a physical product for the world to see. You know you have something special when you see pieces of work that make you want to go out and create something of your own.
For myself, the pieces that touched me the most were the ones that had an outstanding culmination of a great story, amazing characters, visually stunning to see, motivate, inspire, something that will have a lasting impression. Life of Pi, What Dreams May Come, Avatar, Good Will Hunting, movies that are part of the Disney Renaissance, Kingdom Hearts series, the list goes on and on (Sidenote: If you’re a Kingdom Hearts fan and anxious for Kingdom Hearts 3, hopefully you’re prepared to be like me & cut everybody & everything off for at least the 1st two or three days and beat the game twice).
Also if I see something that excites me the way that these movies and games have, I have to spread it around as much as possible. If you go to my twitter page, you’ll see that I’ve consistently been trying to promote graphic artist Justin Maller’s work and Kickstarter campaign. I will literally be a one-man marketing campaign for what really captures me. It’s embedded in me to spread around the products that I absolutely love and want others to experience!
The point I want to make is whatever form of positive, inspiring forms of entertainment, please don’t be ashamed to express them as much as possible. Seeing art being made is a pleasure of mine and I’m always trying to get others involved and appreciate the works of art that have grabbed my attention and encourage others to do the same.
What are your favorite forms of entertainment? What pieces have inspired you? Please feel free to share, I’d love to hear what you have to say!
Thanks for listening,
